Martial Blade Concepts Training Review

“Martial Blade Concepts (MBC) is an edged-weapon system specifically designed to meet the needs of today’s concerned citizen and armed professional. Based on Michael Janich’s extensive analysis of the Filipino martial arts and many other systems, MBC takes combat-proven tactics and adapts them to modern tools, threats, and legal concerns. The result is a practical, easy-to-learn system that is ideally suited to modern self-defense.”

There are a few ways to train in this knife fighting system. One, is to find a local certified instructor in your area and sign up. Two, is through the Martial Blade Concepts Distance learning program. I find that this is one of the best knife fighting training out there. I have trained with a certified instruction and I am a member of the distance learning program.

MBC is a very realistic system. By just watching the DLP and practicing the techniques you will get a great grasp of the system. However, nothing compares to training with a qualified instructor and practicing with a real person. The cost is also very reasonable and affordable. Michael always adds new videos and is quick to respond to any questions and concerns.

Another great thing about the DLP, is if you do not have a training partner, Michael shows you how to build a training dummy. The dummy is made of PVC and you can move and add arms and legs.

“Like all real self-defense, MBC tactics focus on “stopping power”—the ability to immediately and decisively stop an assailant from continuing his attack. To this end, MBC emphasizes an in-depth understanding of human physiology and the most effective methods of targeting key structures with small, legal-to-carry knives. Sometimes called “bio mechanical targeting,” this approach has been thoroughly reviewed and validated by leading experts in the field of tactical medicine.”
